Client Brief & Requirements
The client, a prominent industrial family in Coimbatore, commissioned an 8,500 sq.ft contemporary residence characterized by double-height glass atriums and imported Italian marble finishes. Their core brief required complete whole-home intelligence—centralized lighting, multi-zone HVAC, motorized drapery, and high-fidelity multi-room audio—without a single cluster of plastic switchboards or visible wires disrupting the interior architecture.
Engineering Challenges
Extensive double-height glazing caused intense western solar heat gain and harsh glare in the main living atrium.
Imported Statuario marble wall claddings prohibited post-construction cutting, grooving, or invasive electrical channeling.
A high density of lighting circuits (over 140 addressable loads) required flawless, flicker-free dimming down to 0.1%.
The VoltAura Engineered Solution
VoltAura engineered a centralized European KNX wired bus topology paired with DALI-2 digital lighting gateways. All high-voltage dimmers and relays were housed inside a custom-ventilated low-voltage distribution enclosure in the basement comms room. In living areas, multi-gang switch clutter was replaced by single ultra-slim capacitive brushed-titanium keypads. Motorized dual-roller drapes were integrated with an astronomical clock to deploy sheer curtains during peak sunlight hours automatically.

Full-color 24/7 night vision with optical tripwires around perimeter compound walls and automated smartphone alerts.
Installation Approach & Execution
Our ELV engineering team joined the project during the initial structural concrete pour. We provided detailed CAD conduit layouts to the MEP contractors, isolating low-voltage KNX twisted-pair cabling from AC mains conduits to eliminate inductive noise. Every actuator panel was built, labeled, and bench-tested in our workshop prior to on-site mounting.
