The management of an eco-wellness luxury resort nestled in the Courtallam foothills required an intelligent Guest Room Management System (GRMS). The solution had to deliver an intuitive 5-star guest room experience, integrate directly with their IDS Next Property Management System (PMS), and curb excessive electricity waste caused by guests leaving air conditioners running when exploring nearby waterfalls.
Engineering Challenges
Guests routinely left 2.0-ton split AC units on maximum chill while vacating rooms for 6-8 hours, driving massive utility bills.
High tropical humidity and heavy monsoon rainfall around the Courtallam Western Ghats demanded moisture-resilient electronics.
Spread-out horizontal cottage layout over 6 acres required a reliable campus-wide network that wouldn't collapse during rainstorms.
The VoltAura Engineered Solution
VoltAura engineered a decentralized GRMS architecture with an autonomous Room Controller Unit (RCU) inside each cottage. Magnetic door contacts and microwave occupancy sensors detect guest exit, automatically resetting the thermostat to eco-mode and shutting off non-essential lights within 5 minutes. Bedside consoles feature scratch-resistant tempered glass with subtle LED backlighting. The system interfaces with IDS PMS via TCP/IP sockets to pre-cool rooms upon guest check-in.

Installation Approach & Execution
A full-scale mockup cottage was constructed on-site to validate ergonomics, lighting levels, and PMS socket responsiveness with resort operational staff. We deployed an underground armored fiber-optic ring network interconnecting all 48 cottages back to the central server room.
