Contemporary Multi-Storey Smart Villa
Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu • 4,800 sq.ft | 4-Storey Urban Residence
Client Brief & Requirements
A physician family in Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli required whole-house smart management for a newly built 4-storey residence. Key priorities included combating Tirunelveli's intense dry summer heat, managing rooftop solar water heating and overhead tank pumps, and providing frictionless intercom and access control across all 4 vertical living levels.
Engineering Challenges
Severe solar heat gain on west-facing bedroom windows causing heavy air conditioning loads and high electricity bills.
Navigating communication across 4 vertical levels without family members shouting or missing delivery couriers at the ground gate.
Unreliable municipal water supply timing requiring automated overhead tank filling and dry-run pump protection.
The VoltAura Engineered Solution
VoltAura engineered an integrated climate and energy solution. We installed motorized double-track blackout curtains linked to sun-position sensors that automatically close during peak 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM heat hours. A SIP IP video door intercom connects the front gate to 7-inch touch monitors on every floor and to family smartphones. Smart ultrasonic water tank telemetry automates the sump-to-overhead transfer pump with zero overflow.
Integrated Systems & Hardware
Solar-Tracking Motorized Drapery
Automated motorized drapery scheduled to shield west-facing bedrooms during peak solar radiation, dropping indoor ambient temps by 3.5°C.
Multi-Floor SIP Video Intercom
HD camera door station with room-to-room calling between all 4 floors and remote gate unlock from any room.
Smart Water Telemetry & Pump Automation
Ultrasonic level sensors in sump and overhead tanks providing dry-run prevention and automatic pump staging.
3D Facial Recognition Main Lock
Hands-free keyless entry allowing medical staff and family members to unlock the teak main door even with hands full.
High-Performance Wi-Fi 6 Mesh
Ceiling-mounted enterprise access points across all 4 floors providing seamless roaming without dead spots.
Installation Approach & Execution
A central structured low-voltage riser shaft was established during brickwork. Cat6 cabling was pulled to each floor's sub-distribution board, terminating in a ground-floor equipment enclosure backed by a 2kVA pure sine wave online UPS.
Measured Project Results
"The automated blinds keeping out the fierce Tirunelveli afternoon sun have made a massive difference to our indoor comfort and power bills. Being able to see and buzz in visitors from any floor without running downstairs is an incredible everyday convenience."
